Novels You Enjoy!

Hello Grade Fives!

I think this week’s response will be an easy one. In a paragraph, please tell me what type of novels (fiction books) you like to read. You can tell me authors, titles, or book genres (adventure, mystery, science fiction etc.) you really enjoy.

Just a reminder that a paragraph contains:

a) topic (promise) sentence: what you promise to tell the reader about

b)at least three support sentences (at least): specific examples or details about your topic

c) concluding sentence: where you remind the reader what you promised to tell the reader

Remember to reread your post before submitting it, checking your spelling and punctuation.

As always, I am looking forward to reading your responses!

Stop Bullying Now: We All Have a Choice

Hello Grade Fives,

Last week, we went to a speaker who spoke about how we can stop bullying, how to stop bullying ourselves and how to stop others from bullying. He reminded us that actions begin with a thought. We choose the actions we take. In a paragraph form, share with me three ways that you will try to stop bullying (either bullying yourself or others from bullying).

Remember to reread your post before submitting it, checking your spelling and punctuation.

As always,
I look forward to reading your responses!

Nurturing Healthy Relationships

Hello Grade Fives,

Last week, you recorded things you did to help nurture healthy relationships. I would like you to reflect on what you did, what worked, what did not work. This week, in your blog response, I would like you to set a goal to develop or improve a relationship. In a full paragraph, tell me what your goal is and how you plan to meet this goal.

a) topic sentence: what you promise to try to do

b) three support sentences (at least): details about how you plan to do this

c) concluding sentence: where you remind the reader what you promised to do

Remember to reread your post before submitting it, checking your spelling and punctuation.

As always,
I look forward to reading your responses!

Your Novel

Dear Grade Fives,

This week, you chose a novel for your first independent novel study. In a complete paragraph, I would like you to tell me why you chose this book. Remember, a basic paragraph contains five sentences:

a) topic sentence: what you promise to tell the reader

b) three support sentences (at least): details about your topic

c) concluding sentence: where you remind the reader what you promised to tell them

(Hint: tell me the name of your book in your topic sentence but keep the details for the next three sentences.)

Remember to reread your post before submitting it, checking your spelling and punctuation.

As always,
I look forward to reading your responses!

Love, Mrs. French
