Dear Grade Fives, This week, you chose a novel for your first independent novel study. In a complete paragraph, I would like you to tell me why you chose this book. Remember, a basic paragraph contains five sentences:
a) topic sentence: what you promise to tell the reader
b) three support sentences (at least): details about your topic
c) concluding sentence: where you remind the reader what you promised to tell them
(Hint: tell me the name of your book in your topic sentence but keep the details for the next three sentences.)
Remember to reread your post before submitting it, checking your spelling and punctuation.

My book is called Winnie the horse gentler. I chose it because I have read the first two books in that series and they were good, so I decided to read the third. I hope this is a good book.

My book is the Adams Family.
This story is about a family that is haunted.I have not yet started it.It has coulred pictures in the middle from the movie.Their are five main charecters in this book.(I think)My book is the Adams Family.
this week i chose secret agents four. i chose it be cause it has action and comedy. these two rival agency's sending out teams to sabatoge the other out of business. it's allabout those two teams. thats the book i chose this week.

My book is Buddy.This story is about a family that helps dogs find good homes.In anotherbook I read of there novels they saved a dog.They gave a little tirer to a older person.these books are good.
I chose "The secret of Shadow Ranch" by Nancy Drew because i like the book.I am reading it because i am in a tweens club at the libary and I have to try to read it as much as I can. I rilly like it is interesting. Thats why I chose the Secret of Shadow Ranch.
i chose The Ellimist Chronicles because it looks like a good adventures book. Also a funny book. I read the back and it sounded intresting.
Biking,football,basketball,snowbording. Biking is my favurite sport to do when i'm not at football. I like to play basketball in the winter. After basketball season it is snowbording season.

The book I chose is called Skeleton Key. I have already read 1 and 2 of the series this is the third. I chose this book because it is about a spy and I like spying and adventure and mystery. I think this book has all of those quallitys because the other ones did. The main character ( fourteen year old Alex Rider) is good at spying and he makes daring moves it's really exiting! I like this book because it isn't totaly fiction, some of the crimes and the mysterys, could happen and that helps me understand the book better. This book has alot of hard words in it but not to many so it isn't to hard but you have to think about it. I think on reason it is a good book is because it is not easy but the mystery compels you to keep reading. The book I chose is a cool book, it is about spying.

I chose the stanly cup dream. because its a very good book. I also like it because i like hockey and it has good hockey game planes and you learn good playes.The charecters are marty,steven,matthew and dylen.

also that is carleys faverite hoppy t.v (ps iam on my 13 page and i onley read for 5 min also it is sometimes hard to make smott about the reading)
My book is called A Horse Called Freedom. I chose my book because I like horses and mystery books and the book that I'm reading has mystery and horses.I have not started my novel yet but befor I baught it I looked at the back of the book.

Mrs.French the reason that i picked this book is that is about habitat. Is that where it's place is "Nice." It is about a horse that is black that was lost then it found a home that was nice poeple. That takes good care of the horse.
